Our Services
Apply for Social Security
Social Security disability is a complex and intimidating system to navigate.
Abilitree’s team of experts can ease the stress and confusion of paperwork and provide you with the information and advocacy you need to obtain your benefits. We’ll walk you through the various steps of the Social Security disability benefits process, from the initial application to the hearing and appeal (if necessary).
Our service is available to people whose physical or mental disabilities interfere with their ability to sustain full-time employment.
How does it work?
- We act as the liaison between you and the Social Security disability system and address your concerns with clear, actionable steps. We’ll meet with you in-person, order and review your medical records, and correspond with Social Security disability and medical providers on your behalf.
- We will assist with all paperwork involved in filing for Social Security disability benefits.
- You do not have to pay for your medical records. As a nonprofit organization, Abilitree can request them without incurring costs that are typically passed on to the consumer.
What can I expect?
- Abilitree will prepare your case and represent you at the hearing.
- Once you appoint Abilitree as your advocate and representative, you no longer need to deal with Social Security disability directly. All correspondence goes through Abilitree.
- If we are successful in obtaining benefits and there is a back-payment awarded to you, Abilitree will receive 25% of the payment or $6000, whichever is less. If we are unsuccessful in obtaining benefits, you owe nothing. The national average of “wins” is 44%. Abilitree’s average is 86%.
- This process takes time. Social Security disability is currently backlogged, and the process can take up to two years.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
When you fight for disability, you want a great advocate behind you. I've been fighting for my social security disability for many years, with no success. So I decided to change my advocate when I met Jennifer Simmons at Abilitree.
I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer for two years. She is compassionate, concise, and thorough. Whenever I had any questions or concerns, she was there to answer them in a way I could understand. Jennifer is also very responsive and always responded very quickly to my inquiries.
I'm so glad we kept fighting for my disability because, with Jennifer's help, I won my case last month! I could not have done this on my own. I am forever grateful for her help. Fighting for social security is a long battle and having Jennifer beside me in that battle changed everything for the better.

Jenny Simmons at Abilitree was amazing. She was efficient with her questions. She explained what was to be expected on the disability process. She made me and my family comfortable through this life altering change. And set realistic expectations through this process. Thank you again for all your hard work.

I started in 2015 on my own to apply for Social Security Disability. After 3 years of going through the process of applying, being denied and going through the appeal process, I was introduced to Jenny Simmons and Ryan Dixon at Abilitree. After evaluating my case, they both felt I was eligible for disability. Both Jenny and Ryan relieved me of the stress and time to keep appealing the denials that I was getting from Social Security. They promptly went into action getting all of my medical records and submitted all that was needed for my Hearing. Without their hard work and efforts, I would not have gotten my disability approved. I only wish I would have consulted with Abilitree much earlier as the first 3 years of trying to go through the process on my own was very difficult.
Once again, Thank you and Ryan for all of your hard work and dedication to get me approved for my disability. I could not have done it without you!

Starting out the process of applying for disability knowing I couldn't afford a lawyer was such a lonely feeling and the paperwork was so intimidating. Then I found Abilitree and everything changed. From the first time I went into their office they made sure that I knew I was in no way alone and that no matter what they were going to be there for me every step of the way. Having not only one knowledgeable person but a whole team on my side after going through such a life altering situation where it seemed no one was on my side almost felt surreal. With how smooth they made the whole process I would recommend them to anyone who might find themselves in the position of feeling alone or confused while trying to apply for disability.
