How long have you worked at Abilitree?
I’ve worked at Abilitree for a little more than five years.
What drew you to working at Abilitree?
To be perfectly honest, I just really needed a job. But what’s crazy, is that it turned out to be the most rewarding and challenging job I’ve ever had.
What continues to impact you about your job?
I’m continually surprised at the level of vulnerability and openness the people we serve express to us on a daily basis. The level of trust they impart is humbling and impacts me on a deep level.
What impact do you think you have on making our community stronger?
I’m not aware of what impact I’ve personally delivered, however I’ve seen Abilitree have an immeasurable impact on people’s lives and I’m honored to have played a small part in that.
How has covid-19 changed how you support people?
COVID-19 has changed all aspects of my interactions with those we serve. Previously, I was delivering in-person services and I have had to pivot 180 degrees – it has been challenging to say the least. It is a constant and evolving dance to find the best and safest way to serve our consumers. I’ve found that working in a collaborative and innovative place like Abilitree has allowed us to find creative ways to serve people.
